Centrifugal Pump
Centrifugal pumps are used across nearly every industry to move liquids through pipeline systems, often operating continuously for years at a time. Their efficiency depends heavily on the internal flow behavior around the impeller and volute, where even small design imperfections can cause cavitation, vibration, or unwanted pressure losses.
Generation of the pump performance curves and optimization of the impeller and volute geometry to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of cavitation across the operating range.

Dr. Ertuğrul Alp Başeşme
Dr Ertugrul Basesme graduated from Middle East Technical University Mechanical Engineering Department in 1988 with a high-honours degree, being first in his class. He continued his graduate studies in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Lehigh University, receiving a Master of Science degree in 1990. He received a PhD degree from the Middle East Technical University Mechanical Engineering Department in 1998 due to his studies in CFD analysis of high-speed compressible flows. His technical papers are published in national and international journals.
He attended classes and training programs in various universities and companies in the USA, England, France, Belgium, Poland, Germany and China.
He taught fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer courses in various universities between 2009 and 2016 as a faculty member. He lectured more than 100 courses on flow and thermal analysis in various universities and companies.
Dr Basesme founded Punto Engineering in 1998 to help companies solve flow and thermal problems and improve product performance using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and analytical methods.
