Forebay

In the project, the water flow in the forebay of a canal type HEPP facility was examined by CFD analysis.

​

The forebay is the transition structure between the free surface (open channel) transmission line and the pressure line.  It should provide a suitable transition to pressurized flow at full load and lower capacities.

 

The flow structure and vortex formation in the forebay were examined  and the regions with higher risk of sedimentation have been identified with CFD analyzes.
